Trip report:
We started at 11.00 pm from Dadar and reached the base village by 3.00 am. The group with whom we went had completely mismanaged the entire trip. For 3 hours we stayed in the bus. We could have easily started early morning from Mumbai instead of a wasted night.
At 6.30 am we were given breakfast and the actual trek started only at 7!
We climbed via the waterfall route. It started with a gentle walk across the fields and plateau and then gradually started ascending via waterfall route.
As we kept walking, we reached a plateau from where we could see the Naneghat peak. There is a good amount of walk on the plateau and it slowly and gently climbs higher into the mountain.
Further the trail is through a small foresty patch with trees lined all over. This was my favorite stretch of the trek.
After this stretch it was a clearing again before the rocky ascend. We got a fantastic view of the final stretch of the imposing structure in front of us.
And here we go… the most difficult climb for my 11 year old.
As we moved up we came across a small pool of water in the rocky crevice. Mustu jumped in while I watched sitting on the edge!
Up and up we go until we arrive the superb rocky passage. Voila!
The tiny trekker posed like a celebrity with other trekkers for her achievement 🙂
It was a superb trek and the foggy weather added five stars to it.
